Stephen Pickering, DDS, MSD received his DDS at UCSF in 1977. He practiced general dentistry in Belmont California for 19 years. During this time he taught restorative dentistry at UCSF and achieved Associate Clinical Professor status in 1988. He attended the University of Washington in Seattle to complete his residency in Graduate Periodontics (1996-1999), and earn his Master’s degree for his research. He currently practices periodontics and implant dentistry in San Mateo California. Dr. Pickering is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, The American Dental Association, The California Dental Association, The San Mateo County Dental Society, The Academy of Osseointegration, and he has been elected into the American College of Dentistry, the Peirre Fauchard Society, and OKU. He has been president of the San Mateo County Dental Society, Trustee to the California Dental Association, and is the current president of the California Society of Periodontists. He is also active on committees at the AAP. His non-professional interests include music, golf, art, and spending time with his wife Jan, daughters, and grandchildren.
